In 2020, Covid-19 spread rapidly across the globe, which brought about a mixed view of the traditional methods of fundraising by charities ,while charities and non-profit organisations saw increased demand for services, struggled to run operations. According to a charity commission report titled “What new research tells us about the impact of Covid-19 on charities”, conducted in October 2021,the findings stated that 90% of charities were affected by the pandemic. Whether on service delivery, finances, staff numbers or general staff morale. The majority saw a 60% loss in fundraising income.
Given these findings, it was inevitable that the charity sector needed to innovate in the fundraising space and utilising “technology-as-a-service” will be a catalyst in the future world giving.
